Portable Location Music Audio Recording Studio London

Portable Music Studio Recording

Our portable location recording system has 20 channels of mastering grade audio converters made by Antelope – so we can capture super high fidelity audio on any site – be it a church, a school, a hall, a rehearsal room or indeed your front room – anywhere!

Most portable systems at our price point just use the inbuilt digital microphone preamps – but we go a step further and provide high quality analog front end preamplification. This adds solidity, sweetness, weight, substance and analog 3d to the sounds going in to the recording software. In short – good quality mic preamps sound way better than their digital counterparts.

Analog Mic Microphone Pre Preamps

Always in the Rack – our CLM 4 channel mic pre – based on a Neve design but transformerless, our Line Audio 8MP which always sounds beautiful regardless of audio source, and our Yamaha MLA7 – not an expensive preamp – but again it sounds delish! There’s always a space left in the rack to host any extra outboard we think we might need for a specific recording job – from ultra transparent mic preamps to our Neve’y Phoenix set to our JJ’s API 512 pair – which a Lot of people say are better than the originals.

We may also bring along tube compressors for sweetening and / or fast compressors for smashing drums, or some of our in house made transformer saturation devices (we use expensive vintage transformers). We also have a large collection of quality microphones (some shown on the screen saver). The Beyer M88 and B&O BM6 mics are beautiful on vocals and acoustic instruments, the Reslo ribbon mics are gorgeous on guitars and percussion, the Peavey 520i’s are phenomenal for low end capture of kick drums, bass guitars and brass We also have all the regular mics (Shure etc) for general recording work. Condenser mics include Beyer m740n, 3U u87’s, Line audio Cm3’s and Josephson C42’s. We can cover just about every recording assignment with what we have in house.
We also provide all mic stands, cabling, monitoring and an engineer – no hidden costs!
